Brentford have reportedly signed Jordan Henderson on a two-year deal following his contract expiration at Ajax.
The former Liverpool captain has prioritised a move back to England, and will join the Bees following his short stint in the Eredivisie.
The free agent has completed his medical and an an official announcement is due next week.
Several European clubs expressed interest in Henderson, but he prioritized returning to the Premier League.

According to Goal, Henderson have finished signing all paper works and done his medical, and in consideration of Diogo Jota’s family, an official statement is anticipated the following week.
Henderson will be Christian Norgaard’s replacement, the departed captain of Brentford who just made a high-profile move to Arsenal.
With manager Thomas Frank gone and important players like Mark Flekken and Bryan Mbeumo departing or pursuing exits, Brentford are going through a major transition this summer.

During his 12 years with the Reds, the former captain made 492 appearances and won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.

After Jota’s funeral is over, Brentford will formally announce Henderson next week.
As the Bees rebuild under new management, he is anticipated to join the team before their preseason training camp.
