Harry Kane To Tottenham Transfer Twist As Bayern Munich Release Clause Decision ‘Confirmed’

Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Harry Kane. The 32-year-old striker, who joined Bayern Munich from the Lilywhites in July 2023 for £86.4 million (€100 million), has recently been linked with a return to the Premier League.

Kane, whose contract at the Allianz Arena expires in June 2027, has played 13 Bundesliga games this season, scoring 17 goals and giving three assists. He has played an important part in Vincent Kompany’s team, assisting the defending champions to construct an eight-point advantage at the top of the league.

Despite the England international’s strong performances last season, Bayern sought to improve their attacking alternatives. The Bavarians first targeted Nick Woltemade, but he moved to Newcastle United, instead they recruited Nicolas Jackson on loan instead.

Kane has entered the final 18 months of his contract, creating question on his future. However, according to reports in Germany, the Three Lions captain has no plans to leave Bayern anytime soon.

According to Sport Bild, Kane’s contract has a €65 million (£56.8 million) release clause that must be triggered by January 31 in order to finalize a summer transfer. According to the report, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham all want to sign the Englishman.

However, Kane has apparently decided not to exercise his release clause. Instead, Sport Bild believes the veteran striker is willing to sign a one-year deal at the Allianz Arena; Bayern will only begin discussions when the clause expires.

In October Tottenham Hotspur icon shared an update on his future. While on international duty, Kane told Sky Sports, “I don’t know about the Premier League.
