Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado has been the subject of transfer speculation this summer, but Hansi Flick’s new statements indicate a very different outcome.
During his news conference on Friday, the German coach made it plain that Casado is still a key part of his plans, making a departure appear unlikely.
“I spoke with him, and he doesn’t want to leave; I want him to stay. The manager stated, “It’s going to be a difficult season, and we’ll need all of our players right now.”
Against Levante, Flick surprised many by starting Casado alongside Pedri in the middle. This decision came while Frenkie de Jong was away for personal reasons.
Flick’s trust for Casado
Flick later said that the decision was tactical: “Casado is launching because we changed the structure.”
“We want more consistency and control in defence, and he’s very strong in positional play.” His statements indicated the manager’s confidence in the youngster’s ability to provide balance to the team.
Normally, Gavi would have taken that slot, and he did finally come on in the second half.

However, Casado’s participation was not a haphazard decision; it demonstrated Flick’s willingness to trust him in a crucial match.
While it is unclear how much playing time he will receive this season, one thing is clear: he is unlikely to leave Barcelona during this transfer window, according to MARCA.
Interest exists, but the player remains steadfast.
Despite Flick’s backing, Casado has sparked a lot of curiosity.
According to reports, clubs such as Como in Serie A, Real Betis in La Liga, and even Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have expressed serious interest.
Barcelona was thought to be open to offers if the appropriate price came along, with some suggesting that a sale could raise much-needed finances.
However, Casado has no desire to leave the Camp Nou. The midfielder believes he can play a role under Flick and is willing to compete for a spot in a squad full of excellent midfielders.
Unless Barcelona formally decides to move him, the midfielder appears to be staying in Catalonia to continue his development.
