Hansi Flick has distanced himself from claims he is close to signing a new deal with Barcelona, despite recent comments from club president Joan Laporta.
Laporta had suggested earlier that Flick would soon extend his contract until 2028. However, the German coach insisted now is not the right moment to discuss his future.

Flick, who is currently contracted until 2027, emphasised that his focus remains on upcoming matches, including Barcelona’s crucial UEFA Champions League clash with Newcastle United.

Speaking ahead of the match, Flick admitted he is happy at Barcelona but wants to consult his family before making any long-term decision about his future.
He also addressed speculation about distractions caused by the recent presidential elections.
Flick noted that stability within the club structure is important and welcomed Laporta’s support following his victory.
Despite refusing to confirm a renewal, Flick made it clear he is not considering leaving Barcelona anytime soon, reports Football Espana.
He described the club environment as a “family” and reiterated his commitment to helping the team reach the highest level.
Flick also referenced Barcelona’s philosophy, highlighting the influence of Johan Cruyff and the importance of playing style alongside results.
