Hansi Flick Clears The Air After Viral Image With Raphinha

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has addressed the viral photo that circulated after the club’s 3–1 win over Alavés at the Camp Nou, where he appeared visibly upset while Raphinha tried to console him.

The image sparked widespread speculation among fans, with many suggesting the German coach was frustrated with the Brazilian winger or disappointed with the team’s overall display.

Flick, however, moved quickly to shut down the rumours during his pre-match press conference ahead of Barcelona’s crucial La Liga showdown with Atletico Madrid.

Speaking with humour, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano, the Barca boss explained that the moment was misunderstood.

Flick Says Frustration Was About Performance, Not Players

“My moment with Raphinha? Well, it was a funny thing,” Flick said. “I don’t know who first described that I was sad. I was frustrated — we lost a lot of balls, and we also got two suspensions from the bench.”

The coach clarified that his reaction had nothing to do with Raphinha personally, insisting the winger was only trying to support him during a tense moment.

Flick added that his expression reflected irritation over the team’s loss of possession and avoidable mistakes, issues he has consistently highlighted throughout the season.

He also reiterated that Barcelona must improve their control on the pitch and cut out unnecessary errors, especially with a top-of-the-table clash approaching, reports Sempre Barca.

Despite the tense scenes against Alavés, Flick appeared composed as he prepared his squad for Atletico Madrid, hoping for a refreshed and disciplined response.

Barcelona fans will be eager to see that frustration transformed into a strong performance on matchday.
