Erling Haaland has joked that Martin Odegaard is to blame for the three stitches on his face while the duo are together on international duty with Norway.
The Manchester City striker scored the game’s lone goal as Norway defeated Finland on Thursday. The team is now getting ready to play Moldova in their most latest World Cup qualifying match.
Haaland will do so while bearing a cut just below his lip from a bizarre accident that he made fun of on social media.
At a hotel in Oslo, the 25-year-old stepped from the team bus and stood too near the trunk door. The door flew open and struck Haaland in the mouth leaving him needing stitches after.

According to The Evening Standard, Haaland posted a picture of the cut on Snapchat and said: “Just got banged out by a bus door. Three stitches.”
A fan quipped that Odegaard was to blame after requesting “wrong answers only” when asked how it had occurred. In response, Haaland said, “Correct.”
For the first time since 1998, Norway is making a bid to qualify for the World Cup. They would be making their first big tournament appearance in 26 years.
With a perfect record from their first four qualifiers and a commanding lead in Group I, they are well-positioned to accomplish this.
When Norway plays Moldova on Tuesday, who have lost all four of their qualifiers, they will be confident of maintaining their hold on the group, which included a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Italy in June.
With four goals so far in the qualifying season, Haaland is only surpassed by Memphis Depay and Andrej Kramaric, who have five goals each across Europe.
