Haaland Aims Dig At Man City Teammates Ahead Of FA Cup final

Erling Haaland has reportedly claimed Manchester City’s season is ‘boring and not fun’ as they are on the path of finishing in their lowest position of the Pep Guardiola reign.

The Cityzens currently sit fourth with Champions League football not yet certain.

Since moving to Manchester, Haaland had grown accustomed to winning. He won the treble in his debut season and followed it up with another Premier League victory the previous season. However, the team’s performance have drastically declined this term.

City slipped out of title contention in the middle of the season after going on a stretch in which they won just one of nine games.

To guarantee a place at the top table in Europe, they must now win their remaining two games in order to place in the top five.

Haaland did not concealed his sentiments about Guardiola’s team’s nine league losses. But he still thinks they can win the FA Cup, which gives them the opportunity to at least take home a trophy.

What Did Haaland Say About Man City’s 2024-25 Campaign?

He told BBC Sport: “This season has been tough. It is not nice to lose so many games. It is boring and not fun. That’s why we need to finish well and get a trophy.

“It is a good habit to reach Wembley and always important to win trophies. We have the FA Cup final to play for and in a horrific season we still managed to do this.”

The Norwegian went on to say: “When you have won four league titles in a row, if you don’t win five it’s not going to be a successful season.

“Those are the standards we have set. We haven’t done good enough in the league but still hoping for Champions League qualification.”
