Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was not in the mood to discuss his team’s performance as they lost the first leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off match against Real Madrid due to two late goals.
In the first leg of their Champions League play-off match, Madrid defeated Manchester City 3-2 thanks to a goal from Jude Bellingham in stoppage time.
Erling Haaland gave City the lead with a strong finish with the first goal of the night. However, Kylian Mbappe levelled the score for the visitors an hour later when the ball blasted off his shin and into the top corner.
Haaland netted his brace from the penalty spot in the 80th minute to give City back the lead. Before Real Madrid rallied from behind to equalize via the Cityzens former player, Brahim Diaz. And in the last moments, Bellingham had the last say in the second minute of stoppage time.

“Many times it happened this season,” said Guardiola as echoed by the Irish Independent.
“I know the quality of Real Madrid. We took the game in the second half and tried to attack too quick. It happens because they [Real Madrid] are an exceptional team.
“It happens many times this season. Bad decisions, that’s all. I take it. It’s not about you and me, it’s everyone.
“Of course now it’s tough. We have to recover. I think now about Newcastle and then go to the Bernabeu.”
