Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has reportedly urged the club to sign Barcelona pair amid links to Manchester United.
After their lackluster 2023–2024 season, City have already been busy this summer with the signings of Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Air-Nouri, and Marcus Bettinelli for a total of around £110 million.
However, their shocking loss to Al Hilal in the Club World Cup seems to have fired up Guardiola ahead of the new season.

According to Football 365, the Spanish manager desires Fermin Lopez, one of a few potential Barcelona “sacrifices” this summer as they try to raise money through player sales after goalkeeper Joan Garcia arrived from Espanyol for £21 million. They are also trying to finalize Nico Williams’ £50 million deal from Athletic Club.
Guardiola Wants Man City To Sign Fermin And Ter Stegen
Guardiola feels Fermin “can become one of the key pieces of the new project,” according to Spanish site Fichajes, but Fermin is under contract until 2029 and “would only move if a great offer arrives.”
The report claims the Premier League giants have seen an opportunity to close his signing and are willing to assess the estimated £43 million needed to get the 22-year-old.
In their pursuit of a Andre Onana and Robert Sanchez upgrade, United and Chelsea have been linked with a move for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
However, it has been reported that the “inconsistent performances” of longtime starter Ederson at the Etihad have compelled City to pursue the German veteran.
After Garcia’s arrival, Ter Stegen is expected to have a viewing brief at the Nou Camp. It has been reported that Barcelona are open to offers of £21 million for the 33-year-old, with Wojciech Szczesny deputizing for the newcomer.
