Getafe Defender Criticises Vinicius Junior After Heated Real Madrid Clash

Tensions remain high following Real Madrid’s narrow 1-0 win over Getafe on Sunday night, as controversy surrounds Allan Nyom’s swift red card.

Nyom was sent off less than a minute after being substituted on for an off-the-ball altercation with Vinicius Junior, involving a raised arm and minor leg contact.

Before that flashpoint, emotions were already running high between Vinicius and several Getafe players, particularly defender Juan Iglesias, reports Football Espana.

In the 55th minute, Iglesias confronted Vinicius, and according to Diario AS, Movistar+ cameras caught the defender shouting: “That’s why everyone hates you. Learn from your teammates.”

The exchange highlighted growing frustration from Getafe players toward the Real Madrid star’s on-field antics and attitude during the match.

Iglesias Accuses Vinicius of ‘Disrespecting Opponents’

After the game, Iglesias expanded on the confrontation, claiming Vinicius lacks respect for opposing teams and players in competitive moments.

“In football, there are many challenges and heated moments, but some things must always remain within the limits of respect,” he said.

“You have to respect the opposition and the people. When that doesn’t happen, tensions rise and situations like this occur.”

Vinicius has been involved in several similar clashes throughout his career, often finding himself at the centre of on-pitch disputes.

However, Real Madrid will care little for the drama after taking a vital three points.

They now shift focus to Juventus in the Champions League before facing Barcelona in El Clasico on Sunday.
