Gabriel Jesus has agreed to leave Arsenal, with the Gunners on the verge of completing a surprise exit.
Jesus has made just 70 appearances for Arsenal in the previous three years, having struggled with injuries since coming from Manchester City in 2022 – and after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament damage in January, the Brazilian was sidelined for another nine months.
With Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta bringing in Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke to improve his frontline this summer, it appears that Jesus’ days are finished – and he may have already kicked his final ball in North London.
When Jesus originally arrived at the Emirates Stadium, he made an immediate impression as a false nine, scoring and assisting 11 times in his first 16 games before being sidelined for the 2022 World Cup, when he sustained his first of multiple serious injuries.

Arsenal were thought to be considering a January exit for the 28-year-old last autumn, and the appointment of Andrea Berta as sporting director appears to have hastened the likelihood of Jesus leaving once more.
According to Brazilian publication RTI Esporte, Jesus has accepted Flamengo’s proposal to return to Brazil, with Big Mengo director Jose Boto currently in talks to finalize a homecoming to South America.
According to the rumor, the transfer will be organized as a loan, with major clubs equally splitting Jesus’ wage, which is now earning £265,000 per week, according to Capology.
Arsenal is still looking for another attacker, and releasing a few players, like Fabio Vieira and Leandro Trossard, might pave the way for a seventh acquisition this window.
