Touted as a future star after joining Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2012, Musonda drew early comparisons to Eden Hazard.

Despite early promise, his senior Chelsea appearances were limited to just seven matches, including a Community Shield debut in 2017.

He was sent on multiple loans to multiple clubs like Real Betis, Celtic, and Vitesse to gain experience and playing time.

Unfortunately, a devastating posterior cruciate ligament injury at Vitesse in 2018 severely impacted his career and recovery timeline.

He endured multiple surgeries and spent nearly two years sidelined before returning to training in late 2020.

After leaving Chelsea in 2022, Musonda joined Spanish side Levante and later played for Anorthosis in Cyprus during the 2023/24 season.

With few opportunities and no club last season, Musonda decided to retire and announced the news in an emotional Instagram video, reports Express.

He plans to focus on mentoring young talents, drawing from his experiences of triumph, trauma, and perseverance within the game of Football.

Musonda’s new initiative, VS1FC, aims to support underrepresented footballers navigating similar challenges in their careers.
