The former goalkeeper also represented England women’s national under-19 football team at youth level.

Carr’s condition was first discovered in 2015 after she fainted at home and underwent medical tests that revealed a tumour roughly the size of a golf ball.
Tributes pour in for inspirational former footballer
Following the diagnosis, Carr underwent surgery along with radiotherapy and chemotherapy to treat a grade four astrocytoma brain tumour.
Despite the serious condition, she continued to raise awareness about brain cancer and support research efforts throughout her life, reports Daily Star.
In 2024, Carr ran the Dublin Marathon to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research. Her fundraising campaign generated £28,718 to support research aimed at improving treatment for brain tumour patients.
Doctors later discovered the tumour had returned after she experienced blurred vision and slurred speech during a medical check-up in 2024.
Carr was eventually told the illness had become terminal and was given a short prognosis last year. Tributes have since poured in, remembering her determination and resilience during an inspiring battle with the disease.
