Liverpool are preparing a formal offer for Alexander Isak after the striker reportedly expressed a strong desire to leave Newcastle United.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool’s bid is imminent. Isak wants to join the Reds, rejecting interest from Saudi Arabia and rival Premier League clubs.

Romano stated, “The official bid is a matter of time. Liverpool are ready to go very big for this one.”

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe confirmed Isak won’t travel on the pre-season tour, citing a thigh injury, though the transfer situation looms larger.

Romano also claimed, “He’s made it clear—he wants to leave Newcastle. The move he wants is Liverpool, no Chelsea, no Saudi.”

Liverpool are expected to move quickly, especially with Luis Diaz set to join Bayern Munich for a reported £66 million transfer fee, reports Give Me Sport.

With Diaz leaving, Liverpool aim to strengthen their attack. Isak, known for pace and clinical finishing, fits Klopp’s system perfectly.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are reluctant sellers but may consider a deal if Liverpool meet their valuation, thought to be near £100 million.

Isak has two years left on his contract. If sold, he would become one of the most expensive transfers in British football history.
