Ferdinand Rates Man United’s Transfer Window Following £230M Spend

Rio Ferdinand has reportedly rated Manchester United’s summer transfer window a solid eight out of 10.

The players that United were able to part with were a major factor in his good score for Ruben Amorim’s dealings throughout the window.

This summer, the infamous “bomb squad”—which included Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho—left Old Trafford.

On the day of the deadline, United added Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens to their roster, bringing their total expenditure to above £230 million.

The 23-year-old is one of United’s new players, joining Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Diego Leon.

According to The Mirror, Ferdinand emphasized that selling was essential to United’s success and asserted that it would have improved the dressing room.

What Did Ferdinand Say About Man United’s Transfer Activity?

On his show, Rio Ferdinand Presents, the former England centre-back said: “I’m going to give it [United’s transfer window] a 7.5, maybe an eight.

“I think I’ll give it an eight based on the players they’ve got out of the football club because they had the potential to affect the ambience if they were hanging around.

“I think it’s been a good decision from the club, good active work from the people behind the scenes.”

Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan earlier in the summer, while Garnacho completed a permanent move to Chelsea for £40 million.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Antony and Rasmus Hojlund have moved to Real Betis and Napoli, respectively.

Sancho, who spent the previous season on loan at Chelsea, has followed in Rashford’s footsteps by earning a season-long loan deal to Aston Villa.
