Rio Ferdinand has reportedly dismissed all criticisms of Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres as his goalless run continues.
With the Gunners leading the Premier League, the former Manchester United defender believes the Swede is content with how his career has started in north London.
After defeating West Ham United 2-0 on Saturday, Mikel Arteta’s team finished the second international break atop the Premier League.
Following Liverpool’s second consecutive league loss, Arsenal’s victory—which was made possible by goals from Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka—sent them to the top of the table for the first time this season and will keep them there until the top flight resumes.

Gyokeres, 27, played the entire London derby against the Hammers, but he only managed one shot on goal throughout the forward’s challenging afternoon.
It was his inability to score that prolonged his goalless run to six games across all competitions.
His only goals came in the 5-0 thrashing of Leeds in the season’s second game, and his most recent effort came in the 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in mid-September.
Ferdinand Unwilling To Criticize Gyokeres
Ferdinand acknowledges there hasn’t been any magic from the former Sporting player yet, but he still thinks he will be content as long as they are at the top of the Premier League despite his lack of output.
“He’s doing alright,” he said on his Rio Presents podcast as quoted by Football London.
“You’re top of the league, everything’s rosy when you’re top of the league. People don’t get questioned much, when Liverpool were top of the league and hadn’t lost a game, was anyone questioning Liverpool?
“They lost a couple of games and everyone’s saying they’re on their knees and might be out the title race – it’s mad. “He’s doing alright, he’s not pulling up trees or creating magic but he’s in a team that’s top of the league so I’m sure he’s happy.”
