Ferdinand Implores Man United To Sign ‘World Class’ Superstar Available For Peanuts As Clause Is Met

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has called on INEOS to launch a transfer hijack to bring Victor Osimhen to Old Trafford.

The Nigerian striker has eventually consented to a move abroad after receiving a significant update from Italy regarding the striker’s intended next club.

Even though Napoli have stated that they will not obstruct Osimhen’s sale this summer, there seems to be a surprising lack of real interest in moving the player to the Premier League despite his outstanding goal-scoring performance over a number of seasons.

The striker has 151 career goals, and suitors know exactly what it would take to sign him after Napoli placed a price of €75 million (£64.6m) on his head.

It’s clear that United need to bolster their forward line. Last season, Ruben Amorim’s team scored a dismal 44 goals in 38 Premier League games, which was 42 goals less than the league’s best team, Liverpool, and better than only four other teams in the top tier.

To lead the Portuguese in their 3-4-2-1 system, the Red Devils also want a new No. 9, and Ferdinand maintains that Osimhen is the best choice available.

Ferdinand Urges Man United To Sign Osimhen

In a recent appearance on talkSPORT, Ferdinand pleaded with his old team to step in and thwart Galatasaray’s intentions to permanently sign the 26-year-old.

“I’m like a broken record. If anyone listens to my podcast, I’ve said Osimhen for a while now,” Ferdinand said.

“He’s a centre-forward, he’s experienced, he knows how to score goals at the top level. I’ve seen today that Galatasaray have put a £50m bid in.

“I mean, £50m to get a top-class striker, one of the top strikers in the world, is absolute peanuts in today’s market. I’ll be disappointed if he goes to Galatasaray for that type of money when Man United are crying out for a No. 9.”
