FA Investigate Former Man United Star Over Spitting At Leeds United Fans

The FA are reportedly investigating claims that Hannibal Mejbri spat at fans during Burnley’s victory over Leeds United.

The Clarets defeated the Yorkshire team 2-0 at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the game was marred by a rumored incident in which the former Manchester United star allegedly spat at the opposition supporters.

Mejbri, 22, received a yellow card during injury time after entering the game as a substitute in the 83rd minute.

He was booked following a foul against Leeds star Gabriel Gudmundsson.

Police Probing The Incident

According to Lancashire Police, they are “establishing the facts” related to the reported incident.

A statement read: “[We are] aware of an alleged incident involving a Burnley player during the second half of the Premier League game between Burnley and Leeds United at Turf Moor on Saturday.

“We are currently working with Burnley Football Club to establish the facts.”

A Leeds supporter in Turf Moor’s away end filed the complaint.

According to The Sun, the FA are now looking into the claim, but they haven’t started a thorough investigation yet.

Lesley Ugochukwu gave the home team the lead, while Loum Tchaouna, a substitute, doubled it.

The Lancashire team are now 17th in the Premier League standings, above the relegation zone, thanks to the three points.

But Leeds, who haven’t won since defeating Wolves 3-1 on September 20, have fallen to 16th place.

Mejbri left United to join the Clarets in 2024 after failing to get a position at Old Trafford.
