Tyler Morton has reportedly been the subject of a transfer back to the Premier League few months after leaving Liverpool.
The academy graduate, who was instrumental in England’s successful defence of the UEFA U21 Euros championship, ended his 17-year association with the Reds during the summer after moving to Lyon.
Morton has made quite the impression, starting all but one of Lyon’s league games thus far, despite an early setback with a red card in just his fourth game for his new club, for which he received harsh criticism from the French media.

Crystal Palace has been linked to bringing him back to the Premier League, suggesting that his performance is attracting attention back home.
According to French publication Jeunes Footeux, the 23-year-old has been considered by Palace as a possible long-term option in midfield given that Adam Wharton is being widely linked to a move away from Selhurst Park.
Because of this, Palace are said to be closely monitoring Morton’s situation.
Although Lyon seek to keep the midfield player for more than a single season, the team may be encouraged to engage in negotiations, particularly in light of their unstable financial position.
Morton, who left Anfield after being dissatisfied with his lack of opportunities under Arne Slot during his last season in Merseyside could also welcome a return to the Premier League.
The young Englishman made just five senior appearances in other competitions and failed to make a league appearance during the 2024–2025 campaign.
Morton Had A Conversation With Slot Before Leaving Liverpool
“I think he thought I was a good player, but I don’t feel the trust was there as much,” Morton said last month about his time under Slot. “In my opinion, the limited opportunities were down to trust and not ability.
“When I got my opportunity in the cup, I felt like I played well. That’s all I could say.
“I had a few conversations with him [Slot] during the season. A lot of footballers can be bitter about not playing and let their egos get in the way, but I’m not that type of lad.
“I personally disagreed with the limited amount of game time I got last season, but that was out of my control.
