Erling Haaland may be one of the most feared strikers in world football, but off the pitch he is “just a big kid”, according to Manchester City presenter Faraaz “FG” Ghaffur.
The Norwegian star has been in unstoppable form again this season, scoring freely in the Premier League and Champions League.
Since joining City in 2022, Haaland has shattered expectations, including setting the Premier League’s all-time single-season scoring record in his debut campaign.
Now 25, he already has 14 league goals and five Champions League strikes this season, continuing his blistering run.
FG, who regularly interacts with the squad on media days, lifted the lid on Haaland’s character while speaking on In The Mixer.
According to him, Haaland’s public image matches his private personality completely, reports Mirror.
“Everything you see with Erling is what you get,” FG said, adding that even on bad days, the City striker remains cheerful, respectful and fun around everyone at the club.
City Insider Says Haaland Is Still Improving Rapidly
FG described Haaland as “a big kid who just wants to have fun”, while also insisting the forward is nowhere near his ceiling.

He believes Haaland looks even more relaxed this season, balancing football with YouTube appearances and side projects.
Despite his incredible scoring numbers, FG said Haaland’s biggest improvement has been his overall involvement — especially in link-up play and movement off the ball.
Former City defender Joleon Lescott agreed that Haaland has evolved, noting that without Kevin De Bruyne, the striker has adapted by dropping deeper and becoming more involved in build-up phases.
With his mentality, numbers and growing all-round game, Haaland’s potential rise appears far from complete.
