Man City, who have already been demoted to the Championship for the upcoming season, will play Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
With two league games left, a victory at Southampton would put City in the driver’s seat for a Champions League qualification spot.
An ankle ailment has meant Haaland hasn’t participated since the FA Cup quarterfinal triumph over Bournemouth at the end of March, but Guardiola says his Norwegian attacker is fit for selection again.
“He’s prepared. He’s in shape. Begin? At the news conference on Friday, Guardiola affirmed, “We make our decision tomorrow.”
When questioned about the fitness of Nathan Ake, Oscar Bobb, and Rodri—all longtime absences—the City manager insisted they would not play this weekend, reports Sports NDTV.
“Not yet accessible. They’re still unavailable, even though they’ve partially begun training with us,” he continued. Guardiola’s opinions on Xabi Alonso were also questioned.
Alonso was praised by the Spaniard, who described his impact at Leverkusen as “unbelievable.””He has had an incredible impact on Leverkusen.”
I believe that every manager who had the pleasure and privilege to have him as a player always knew he would become a manager.
