Real Madrid 2-2 draw against Elche was a fortunate outcome for Los Blancos, as they struggled on the night and scored two controversial goals that could have gone either way.
While both goals were valid, the hosts had excellent reason to feel wronged.
That mood, needless to say, was considerably more heightened in the team’s second goal, when Vinicius Jr. clashed with Elche’s goalie Inaki Pena, leaving him with a gushing nose seconds before Jude Bellingham tapped in.
Elche coach speaks.
Elche’s manager, Eder Sarabia, addressed the media following the game and stated unequivocally that he believed the draw was an unfair outcome for his team. According to Marca News.
The coach felt that Real Madrid’s second goal of the game should not have counted.
“I’m not pleased with the outcome, especially after witnessing the final moments of the game. Vinicius’ foul in the 2-2 goal is pretty obvious.”

Sarabia elaborated on how his goalkeeper was affected by the incident and immediately impacted by saving Real Madrid’s equaliser.
“Inaki didn’t see the play, but it’s not just a normal play – it’s a very clear foul.”
“It angers me to waste time on these things, but when you go ahead twice and feel that there were factors that affected the final result, you feel angry,” he said in addition to his frustration.
He then stated that his goalie had been fouled in the second goal, and that it was appalling that VAR did not even consider the event worth studying.
