Hugo Ekitike has disclosed the reasons behind his summer transfer decision to Liverpool rather than Manchester United.
The striker left Eintracht Frankfurt to join Anfield after being linked to other Premier League clubs.
The 23-year-old was the focus of heated transfer rumors during the summer transfer window after scoring 22 goals in 48 games in Germany.
After Ruben Amorim made the decision to sign a new striker, United expressed interest in the Frenchman. Arsenal and Newcastle were also interested, but Ekitike chose to join Liverpool.

The former Paris Saint-Germain player, who cost £69 million plus £10 million in add-ons, has made eight appearances and scored five goals. Benjamin Sesko, who United signed from RB Leipzig in his stead has only scored one goal since joining.
According to Manchester Evening News, prior to the journey to Turkey, Ekitike gave an explanation of his decision to go to Anfield. This week, he will try to help Liverpool keep their perfect record against Galatasaray in the Champions League.
“Liverpool are Premier League champions, with great players and great history,” he said when asked why he chose the Reds amid interest from United.
“I think it was a good choice for me and that’s why I chose Liverpool as it was the best option and I wanted to come.”
