Ederson has revealed that he was unhappy at Manchester City before his summer move to Fenerbahce, citing struggles with motivation and injuries.
The Brazilian goalkeeper spent eight highly successful years at the Etihad, winning 18 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
However, the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma pushed Ederson down the pecking order, prompting his eventual departure at the end of the transfer window.
The 32-year-old admitted that his unhappiness had begun much earlier, as he tried to leave the club in a previous season without success, reports Independent.
“In a previous season I had already tried to leave, but it didn’t work out,” Ederson told reporters this week.

“I had five injuries and wasn’t at my best,” he added. “There’s no point being at a giant club if you’re not happy.”
Ederson believes the move to Turkey has reignited his passion for football, describing Fenerbahce’s atmosphere as “crazy and full of life.”
“It’s good to have new challenges,” he said. “I’m breathing football again and eager to win more trophies here.”
The goalkeeper is currently back in Brazil’s national squad ahead of their friendly match against Senegal on Saturday.
