Arsenal have stepped up their summer business with the imminent signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, with the England international set to undergo a medical ahead of his £67.5 million ($91m) move.
The Gunners hijacked Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Eze in a dramatic midweek twist, despite the ongoing injury concerns surrounding Kai Havertz.

Eze, 27, has long been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, and his boyhood affinity for Arsenal reportedly played a key role in finalising the transfer.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was quick to clarify that the club’s push for Eze was not a reaction to Havertz’s injury, which left him absent from open training earlier this week.
“We were very active trying to look at the possibilities that could come.
We are not reacting to anything,” Arteta said on Friday, stressing that the decision to sign Eze was part of the club’s broader plans rather than a knee-jerk response.

Havertz remains sidelined as further tests are carried out to determine the full extent of the issue, though he is certain to miss Saturday’s Premier League clash against Leeds.
Eze’s arrival will mark Arsenal’s seventh summer signing, taking overall spending beyond £260 million, as Arteta reinforces his squad with a clear focus on domestic and European ambitions.
Meanwhile, Christian Nørgaard remains out for another week, and the fitness of Ben White and Jurriën Timber will be assessed ahead of the weekend fixture, reports ESPN.
