While Real Madrid suffered reasonable injury blows during the ongoing international break, it quickly became clear that neither Kylian Mbappe nor Franco Mastantuono’s injuries were serious, leaving Dean Huijsen as the sole significantly hurt party.
The French winger apparently recovered well and was even stated to have fully recovered from his injury, returning to 100%.
In fact, as reported yesterday, Mbappe was almost certain to return in Real Madrid’s game against Getafe this weekend, but gradually to limit the possibility of a relapse.
A change in the situation
However, according to the most recent update from L’Equipe, Mbappe’s participation versus Getafe remains doubtful.
His right ankle has yet to be medically cleared to allow him to play on the night, thus his participation is far from guaranteed.

He will so practice with the team today and Saturday, assessing his feelings before deciding on his availability.
Needless to say, the medical staff will keep a close check on how Mbappe completes training and whether he is pain-free at the site.
The news comes as a significant shock to Xabi Alonso ahead of a crucial encounter against an opponent known for a famously low block in defence – one against whom Mbappe will be essential.
After all, the Frenchman has completely dominated the team’s striking department this season.
However, not all news for the manager is grim, as the club has already begun preparations for the next game, with Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba, and Gonzalo Garcia all appearing to have resumed normal group exercise yesterday.
Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, Eder Militao, and Arda Guler are slated to arrive later today.
