Dele Alli Leaves New Club After Less Than 10 Minutes of Play

Dele Alli has mutually terminated his contract with Serie A side Como, leaving the club after featuring just once.

The former England midfielder joined Como in January on an 18-month deal, hoping to revive his career after serious setbacks.

Alli’s return was hindered by injuries, mental health struggles, and personal challenges, which limited his playing opportunities since January.

His debut quickly turned disastrous when he was sent off less than 10 minutes after entering during a match against AC Milan.

The incident occurred during Como’s 2-1 defeat at the San Siro, leaving the midfielder sidelined and frustrated for months afterward.

Mutual Contract Termination

A joint statement confirmed the decision, emphasizing that Alli was not part of the club’s immediate plans moving forward.

“Dele is keen to secure regular playing opportunities elsewhere,” the statement said, with both parties agreeing to part ways amicably.

Como thanked Alli for his brief contribution and wished him success in the future, acknowledging his professionalism despite challenges, reports Express.

Previously, Alli left Tottenham for Everton in January 2022, appearing only 13 times before a curtailed loan to Turkish club Besiktas.

The 29-year-old now joins several other former Premier League players available for free, including Hakim Ziyech and Kurt Zouma.
