Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr Confirm Departure Following Another Trophy-Less Season

Stefano Pioli has officially left his role as Al-Nassr manager ahead of an imminent return to the Serie A with Fiorentina.

After a lackluster season, Pioli took over as Al-Nassr’s head coach in September of last year, succeeding Luis Castro.

Despite placing third in the Saudi Pro League and losing in the Kings Cup and AFC Champions League, the former AC Milan manager did not win any trophy with the Saudi club during the 2024–25 season.

According to Goal, after his stint in the Middle East, Pioli is anticipated to return to Italy, where he will be awaiting his Fiorentina position.

Meanwhile, Al-Nassr have to hire a new gaffer, and former Ronaldo teammate Sergio Conceicao has been linked to a transfer to Al-Awwal Park.

statement from Al-Nassr reads: “Al Nassr Club Company informs that Mr Pioli and his Staff are no more the acting coaching staff of the first team.

“We would like to thank Mr Pioli and his staff for their dedicated work during the past season.”

As the 2025–26 Saudi Pro League season begins in August, Ronaldo will soon be working with his fifth manager in two and a half years at the club.
