Cristiano Ronaldo has won a major legal battle against Juventus, securing €9.8 million in a long-running wages dispute resolution.
A Turin labour court rejected Juventus’ appeal, confirming the club cannot recover money already paid to the Portuguese superstar.
The case relates to unpaid wages from the COVID-19 period, following Ronaldo’s departure from Juventus in 2021.

Ronaldo claimed €19.6 million remained outstanding, prompting legal action against the Serie A giants in 2023.
The dispute centred on a private wage deferral agreement that lacked Ronaldo’s signature, weakening Juventus’ legal position.
Court ruling ends Juventus appeal and confirms payment
In April 2024, an arbitration panel ruled Juventus must pay half the claimed amount, totalling €9.8 million.
Juventus appealed that decision, arguing repayment rights, but the Turin judge dismissed the club’s challenge entirely.
As a result, Juventus are now legally barred from reclaiming the €9.8 million paid to Ronaldo.
The ruling also orders Juventus to cover legal costs, increasing the financial impact of the dispute, reports Football Italia.
However, the verdict will not affect Juventus’ balance sheet, as the funds were already allocated previously.
The amount was set aside in the club’s 2023–24 financial statements, limiting immediate accounting consequences.
Juventus are expected to review the ruling carefully before deciding whether to pursue any further legal action.
