Jamie Gittens, like many of Manchester City’s previous players, has improved dramatically since leaving the Etihad Stadium. Having never played a professional game for the Premier League giants, the 20-year-old moved to Borussia Dortmund and has had a breakthrough season in the last year.
This season, the English winger appeared in 49 games for Der BVB, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists. Gittens is often a left winger, but he can also play right flank and center forward.
His talents rapidly drew the attention of prominent Premier League clubs, with Chelsea seeing him as the ideal successor for Jadon Sancho, who has returned to Manchester United following a mediocre loan term at Stamford Bridge.
