Chelsea Seem To Make Final Decision On Man United Star As £50M Deal On Line

Chelsea have reportedly made up their minds regarding Manchester United winger, Jadon Sancho, as they pursue a move for Borussia Dortmund star, Jamie Gittens.

Last summer, when it became evident that the England international could not mend his relationship with Erik ten Hag, the Blues decided to loan Sancho from the Red Devils.

Chelsea committed to paying £25 million to acquire the former winger for Borussia Dortmund, but they have the option to terminate the deal this summer for an additional £5 million.

Even as Chelsea defeated Real Betis 4-1 last week to win the Europa Conference League, Sancho’s future is still in doubt, according to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

Maresca said: “I said yesterday in the press conference. From now on we are going to sit with the club and decide what happens for next year.

“If we finish fourth, it is also because of Jadon, if we win tonight it is also because of Jadon. It is normal in a season to go a little bit up and down, it is part of the game.”

According to the Daily Telegraph as cited by Football 365, Chelsea are in talks to sign Dortmund winger Gittens, and “want to wrap up a deal before both clubs go to the Club World Cup.”

The England Under-21 international has been expected to attract bids of more than £50 million, with a release clause of almost that amount in his contract. And the possible transfer seems to suggest Chelsea may be moving on from Sancho.

Gittens’ preferred position is on the left wing, and it is said that the move “will command Chelsea’s full focus with uncertainty over the future” of Sancho.
