Chelsea Receive £30M Cash Boost For Flop As Funds Arrive For Simons Deal

Chelsea have reportedly agreed a £30 million deal with AC Milan for Christopher Nkunku.

Nkunku has played English football for two years, but his time at Stamford Bridge has come to an end.

After two seasons as RB Leipzig’s main goal scorer in the Bundesliga, the Frenchman arrived in England in the summer of 2023 for an estimated £52 million.

During his final two seasons at Red Bull Arena, Nkunku scored 58 of his 70 goals in 172 games for the German team.

After just six league goals in two seasons, the 27-year-old’s move to Chelsea has not gone as planned for many Blues supporters.

Last season, Nkunku scored three goals in 27 Premier League games but seven in 11 Conference League games.

After Joao Pedro, Estevao, and Liam Delap joined in the summer, it was decided to let go of the former Paris Saint-Germain player.

Chelsea could be able to outbid rival Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons with the money earned from Nkunku’s expected sale.

According to BILD as reported by FourFourTwo, Simons is in London to talk about his future. The Dutch international is widely reported to be a target for Chelsea and Spurs.

Transfermarkt values Nkunku at €35 million (£30 million), which Milan most likely paid given that he still has four years left on his Chelsea contract.

Chelsea will be revealed their Champions League opponents in the League Phase draw later today.
