Chelsea Pushing For Jackson Exit As Newcastle Consider Transfer

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has reportedly acknowledged Nicolas Jackson could leave the club before the end of the summer transfer window.

Given the uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isak’s future, Jackson has been linked to a move to Newcastle United, who are looking to add a striker this month.

Eddie Howe’s team have been pursuing several forwards, but they haven’t been able to sign anyone to strengthen their front line thus far.

Following Chelsea’s summer acquisitions of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, Jackson has been mentioned as a possible remedy.

According to The Evening Standard, when asked about Jackson’s future, Maresca said: “Nico is okay. He’s okay. When the transfer window is open, unfortunately or fortunately, anything can happen.

“This also involves Nico’s situation. At the moment we also had two strikers arrive, both of them in the USA, Joao and Liam. So we will see what happens.”

Chelsea will now devote almost all of their attention on outgoings after being aggressive with their business this summer.

On Wednesday night, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall completed a £25 million move to Everton, and Lesley Ugochukwu joined Burnley for a reported £20 million.

Maresca has been happy with Chelsea’s performance thus far, and they have strengthened their attack by adding players like Estevao and Jamie Gittens.

Jorrel Hato, a defender, has also joined from Ajax and may play in his first game on Friday against Bayer Leverkusen in a friendly.

“I feel very happy about the new signings, because they are the ones that we were looking at,” said Maresca. “So I’m very happy about that.
