Chelsea’s final home match of the Premier League season is on Friday night at Stanford Bridge against fierce rivals Manchester United.
The Blues have had a mixed campaign under Enzo Maresca, briefly sitting second in the table before dropping to fifth place.
Maresca’s side may still guarantee qualification for next season’s Champions League if they win their final two matches of the season, but Manchester United and Nottingham Forest will likely present stern tests.
In the meantime, it has emerged that Chelsea are no longer interested in a United player who they had previously sought to sign.
According to CaughtOffside, the West London club has dropped its interest in United’s Alejandro Garnacho in favour of signing Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens.
The Blues attempted to sign Garnacho, who has six goals in 35 league games this season, during the recent January transfer window, but according to the report, the club is no longer actively pursuing the Argentinian.
Chelsea is instead focusing on a deal to sign Dortmund winger Gittens, who is having a breakout season in Germany.

The 20-year-old joined Dortmund from Manchester City in 2020 and has scored 12 goals in 47 games for his current club this season.
The Englishman is under contract with Dortmund until the end of the 2027/28 season, but it remains to be seen whether Chelsea can entice him back to London, having previously trained at their Cobham academy.
Garnacho, meanwhile, is claimed to have fans in Europe, with teams including Bayer Leverkusen, Barcelona, Napoli, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid showing interest in the winger.
