Former Chelsea defender, Thiago Silva is reportedly considering a return back to the Stamford Bridge upon his departure from Brazilian outfit, Fluminense.
The seasoned defender is eager to play for a top team once more in order to increase his chances of getting selected for Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad.
For at least the remainder of the season, John Terry has instructed Chelsea to sign Silva in order to bolster their backline with some much-needed experience.
Silva obviously has a strong bond with the team he joined in 2020, and fans would undoubtedly welcome the return of one of their finest modern-day defenders.

Silva Eager To Make Chelsea Return
According to journalist Simon Phillips as reported by the Chelsea Chronicle, the central defender would be eager to return to Stamford Bridge, even if it meant accepting a lower salary to meet the club’s budget.
The journalist stated further that Chelsea are unlikely to reach an agreement to sign Silva until they part ways with a centre-back in January.
He said: “SPTC Sources understand that Silva has communicated that he would return to Chelsea as a player next month and would even come back on a wage packet that would suit the rest of the squad and the current structure.
“He ideally wants to play for a team in or around London, and of course, returning to Chelsea would be the ultimate move for him. But he’s open to other opportunities as well.
“On Chelsea’s side, sources say that unless there are any injuries or sales of Axel Disasi and Tosin Arabarioyo/Benoit Badiashile, then there is no room in the squad for any more centre backs.
“If two of the above are sold or injured, then there would be space and it could happen.”
