Chelsea are preparing to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend, after a tight 1-0 win over Pafos in the Champions League.
Moises Caicedo scored the only goal in that game, helping the Blues maintain hopes of progressing in the group stage.
With the January transfer window closing soon, Chelsea are now reportedly exploring a shock midfield signing.
According to BBC Sport, the club are considering a loan move for Brazil international Douglas Luiz until the end of the season.
Luiz is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Juventus, but has struggled for game time this season.

The 27-year-old has made only 14 appearances for Forest, providing just one assist since arriving last summer.
Despite his limited involvement, Chelsea are said to have a strong relationship with Forest, which could help negotiations.
Juventus are also keen for Luiz to play regularly during the second half of the campaign.
Luiz previously impressed in the Premier League during a long spell at Aston Villa, where he made over 200 appearances.
He joined Juventus in 2024 but returned to England last summer after one season in Italy.
Chelsea are reportedly looking at Luiz to bring experience and cover for injured midfielder Romeo Lavia, reports Shoot.
Lavia has struggled with frequent injury issues since joining the club, leaving Chelsea short in midfield depth.
If the move happens, Luiz would add valuable Premier League experience to Liam Rosenior’s squad for the final weeks of the season.
