Barcelona will need to contemplate sales in 2026 as they work to better their financial status. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Robert Lewandowski could be playing their final season in Catalonia, and another player who may leave is midfielder Marc Casado.
Casado broke into Barcelona first squad with Hansi Flick’s arrival during summer for 2024, but his prominence has since dwindled and it is unlikely to increase anytime soon. As a result, there may be opportunities for him to be sold, given that Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Marc Bernal are, in principle, ahead of him in the hierarchy.
Barcelona had hoped to sell Casado over the summer, but it proved difficult. However, when the transfer window reopens, the young defensive midfielder might be moved on, especially as CaughtOffside reports that Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in buying him.

According to the report, Barcelona is willing to take any offer in the €30-35 million range, which Chelsea and Arsenal would easily meet. However, convincing the 22-year-old to leave Catalonia would be a different matter, considering his lack of desire to do so.

If Casado is going to be fifth in the defensive midfield pecking order, Barcelona should sell him while his value is high. €30-35 million would be a significant boost to their financial situation, especially since this money would be pure profit given that he came through the academy.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea and Arsenal will step up their interest in Casado as the transfer window reopens in January. Barcelona may be less keen to sell right now because they are unlikely to find a successor.
