Marc Bernal FC Barcelona midfielder returned to the field in a 6-0 triumph over Valencia after missing the entire season due to an ACL tear. He only played the final 9 minutes of the game, which had already concluded.

Interestingly, despite being out of play for so long, Bernal’s market reputation remained intact. According to Mundo Deportivo, both Chelsea and Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr considered purchasing the young pivot in the last days of the summer transfer season.

Chelsea, led by the BlueCo collaboration, developed a systematic plan for Bernal. They were willing to offer him a long-term contract and initially loan him to their satellite club, RC Strasbourg, to assist him regain match rhythm and acquire vital minutes.

Strasbourg, bought by BlueCo in 2023, has already provided as a springboard for several Chelsea hopefuls. However, while the Premier League club expressed interest, no formal offer was ever made to Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Al-Nassr made a push in the last days of the window. Unlike Chelsea, their demand was straightforward: they wanted Bernal on a permanent move, with no chance for a loan.

Ultimately, both pursuits failed. Marc Bernal expressed his desire to stay and prosper at Barcelona to the Blaugrana club’s board. Hopefully, he will be able to realize this dream and make a strong comeback from his injury in the upcoming matches.
