Danny Murphy has reportedly urged Chelsea to change their transfer approach this summer transfer window to become title challengers.
According to the former Liverpool player, Enzo Maresca’s current team lack the necessary talent to contend next season.
Maresca led the Blues back into the Champions League after they finished in fourth place this season,
They qualified for the competition again for the first time since 2023 after their victory over Nottingham Forest on the last day.

Chelsea still have Wednesday night to end their campaign with a trophy.
In Wroclaw, Poland, the Blues will play Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final.
Murphy thinks the team needs to make some adjustments, though, if they want to start the next season.
Speaking on the Kick Off, the talkSPORT co-host explained: “Now the question is for Chelsea to be Premier League contenders and Champions League contenders.
“Is he the man that’s going to take them there? Or if he is, are they going to break their normal routine or procedures in terms of recruitment and get two or three more experienced guys in who can help the others because that will help the manager. I think they need to do one.”
At 24 years and 36 days, Chelsea’s average starting lineup this season was the youngest in Premier League history.
Murphy added: “I think it’s unlikely but they are your two options or because as far as I’m concerned although Chelsea players are improving they’ve got a good decent talented squad that is not a Premier League-winning team.”
The Blues trailed champions Liverpool by 15 points at the end of the season.
