Chelsea Handed Major Injury Boost As Midfielder Set To Feature Against PSG

Moises Caicedo has reportedly resumed training after coming off injured in Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup semi-final win against Fluminense.

In Sunday’s final in New Jersey, Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain will be a formidable opponent for the Blues.

The Conference League champions will play the Champions League winners in that match. Caicedo has kept up his untouchable reputation by training, even as he was unable to complete the 2-0 victory over Fluminense.

According to the Daily Mail, one of the few Chelsea players with a possibility of starting for PSG is the 23-year-old defensive midfielder.

Nevertheless, some faces were absent from Chelsea’s New York session.

Romeo Lavia still remain out with an injury. Robert Sanchez was there at the beginning of the session for the traditional slaps that Chelsea players enjoy, but he did not participate in the goalkeeping drills.

With that, they form two lines and designate one teammate to run through the middle and receive a friendly slap from the other players.

Even though Noni Madueke seemed on the verge of joining Arsenal as the Gunners initiated direct negotiations with the Blues, he seemed to avoid that treatment as he trained.

Given his intention in moving to the Emirates Stadium this summer, Madueke is believed to have already reached a personal agreement with Mikel Arteta’s side.

Maresca has benefited greatly from the 23-year-old winger, but Chelsea have another young talent arriving in the form of 18-year-old Estevao Willian from Palmeiras.
