Bukayo Saka Apologized After Liverpool Player Suffered A Broken Bone During Confrontation

Arsenal forward, Bukayo Saka has admitted regret over his ‘untentional’ foul on Liverpool defender, Kostas Tsimikas during the Gunners 1-1 draw against the Reds at Anfield.

On that occasion, Mikel Arteta’s men took an early lead with a four-minute strike from Gabriel Magalhaes, but Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah equalized later in the half.

Drama struck when Saka’s hard tackle caused an unintentional contact between Tsimikas and his then-manager Jurgen Klopp off the game, resulting in a shoulder injury that forced the Greek footballer off. He was promptly switched with Joe Gomez and hospital testing proved his collarbone had snapped.

According to the Mirror, England’s Saka expressed regret to Sky Sports after learning about Tsimikas’ hospitalization during the match.

Saka stated: “I heard he went to the hospital, so clearly I want to apologize to him; I didn’t intend it, of course. For me, it was a 50-50 split, and I went shoulder to shoulder with him.”

He elaborated: “I didn’t see it, but he must have had a severe fall. I didn’t see him confront Jurgen Klopp either. I was concentrating on running forward because I did not believe it was a foul. That is my view on it.”

As the 2024/25 season began, bets were placed on Manchester City or Arsenal to win the title, but Arne Slot’s revitalized Reds soared to victory.

Before the match, Arsenal’s star player Declan Rice, who was absent due to injury yesterday, tipped his hat to the country’s new kings, admitting his team “fell short” in the title race.

“We’ve obviously seen what they’ve done, massive credit to them, they’ve been the most consistent team throughout the season, performed to a really high standard and ability,” said the England midfielder.
