Bryan Mbeumo Urges ‘Brother’ To Join Man United

Manchester United star Bryan Mbeumo is reportedly trying to persuade his international teammate Carlos Baleba to join him at Old Trafford, as manager Ruben Amorim looks to bolster his midfield.

United were linked with Baleba during the summer transfer window but were deterred by Brighton’s firm stance.

Seagulls chairman Tony Bloom told The Argus: “There was interest from Manchester United, and we said that he wasn’t available this summer and they went away.

His improvement has been immense, and we’re delighted he’s with us this season.”

Despite an inconsistent start to the current campaign, Baleba remains on United’s radar.

However, reports suggest Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton has emerged as a possible alternative target for the Red Devils.

Mbeumo Playing Matchmaker for United

According to The Sun, Mbeumo is acting as a “big brother” figure to Baleba within the Cameroon national team and is using his influence to encourage the 21-year-old to make the switch to Manchester.

The pair share a close bond, which could prove useful for Amorim as he continues to target young, dynamic midfielders.

Both players featured in Cameroon’s recent World Cup qualifiers, contributing to a 2–0 victory over Mauritius and a goalless draw with Angola.

The results left Cameroon second in their qualification group behind Cape Verde.

Baleba, known for his powerful presence and composure in midfield, joined Brighton from Lille in 2023.

His potential move to United could strengthen Amorim’s rebuild as the Portuguese boss seeks to add energy and depth to his squad.
