Bayern Munich Director Opens Up On Joshua Kimmich Barcelona Move

Joshua Kimmich, a midfielder for Bayern Munich whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, has long been linked to Barcelona.

The 29-year-old has been negotiating a contract extension with the Bavarian powerhouses, but he has not committed and is weighing his alternatives.

Real Madrid has also been linked to a move for the German international, although ties to Barcelona are still strong.

In January, Kimmich was asked by Bayern Munich to clarify his future, but the midfield player has not made a choice, reports Barca Universal.

As a result, Max Eberl has now addressed the matter, saying that while the club is willing to give him more time, they cannot wait indefinitely.

“Of course, we know we cannot wait forever.

But we want to give Joshua some time and allow him to fully consider whether Bayern is the club he wants to continue with,” said Eberl.

“I do not want to have to convince a player to sign a contract.

I want him to do so with full conviction,” the Bayern manager continued.

If Kimmich decides to leave Bayern Munich, one of his top destinations is Barcelona.

It is unlikely to be a priority for the Blaugrana, though, given the abundance of midfield options available to Hansi Flick, particularly with his hefty pay demands.
