According to Mundo Deportivo, Hansi Flick is likely to offer Barcelona junior squad starlet Jofre Torrents many chances during the club’s impending Asian pre-season trip.
The outstanding youngster has just signed a contract extension with the club until 2028, and the technical team is already working on a personalized growth plan to help him realize his full potential.
Torrents is regarded by Barça as one of La Masia’s most promising young players. According to club sources, his technical ability, speed, and attacking threat from defense make him a unique talent.
Despite sustaining a catastrophic knee injury in 2023, Torrents has recovered well, and his fans continue to believe in him. He has previously trained with some of the club’s most talented players, and now it’s his time to shine.
A big pre-season opportunity
Jofre is not under any pressure to break into the first team right away because the senior squad already has Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martin at left-back. However, this does not imply that the club is not keeping a close watch on him.

In fact, that low-profile approach is part of a plan. Several big European clubs had shown interest in him, so Barça moved quietly to renew his deal and keep him under the radar.
Flick is now expected to include the 18-year-old in the pre-season squad for the tour to South Korea and Japan. There, the management will appraise his talents and give him precious minutes.
The coaching staff is also putting out a physical development plan to help him gain muscle, which they have done successfully with Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal.
Torrents may not be a household name just now, but that might change soon. If his talent matches the excitement within the club, it is just a matter of when, not if, he makes the jump to the senior squad. This summer, he will be the center of attention.
