Barcelona Youngster Completes Granada Loan Swap

Barcelona has already confirmed that its 21-year-old goalkeeper, Ander Astralaga, will spend the next season on loan at Granada. The contract will keep him with the club until the end of the 2025–26 season.

Granada expressed their delight at welcome Astralaga, saying they are thrilled to have him on board and wish him the best of luck in his new chapter.

“Granada Club de Futbol and FC Barcelona have agreed on the loan of goalkeeper Ander Astralaga until the end of the 2025-26 season.

“The Club welcomes Astralaga and wishes him the best of luck in his new role as a red-and-white player,” said Granada.

A keeper with excellent potential.

Astralaga finds himself in a difficult situation at Barcelona. After Barça Atletico was demoted to the Second Division, he was unable to continue with the reserve squad.

He also had no place in the first team, which already has four goalkeepers competing for spots: Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Inaki Pena. Reported on Social Media.

With this situation, Astralaga needed a chance to get regular playing time, and Granada provided it.

Astralaga’s adventure with Barcelona began in 2018, when he joined from Athletic Club’s junior system. He started with Barça’s Cadete A team before progressing to the youth divisions.

He made his Barça Atletic debut in March 2022, helping the team defeat Betis Deportivo 2-1.

Since then, he has split his time between playing for the reserve team and being called up to practice with the first squad.

Despite regularly training with Hansi Flick’s first-team squad, he has yet to play an official match for Barcelona. However, he did appear on the pitch during pre-season last year, playing 30 minutes in a friendly against Manchester City.
