The official Barcelona team bus was ambushed in London as it traveled to Stamford Bridge for their Champions League match against Chelsea.
A pane was destroyed, prompting personnel to patch up a temporary fix so the rattled players could be taken to Gatwick Airport immediately after the match on Tuesday night (November 25).
Police were rushed to the area and are investigating the horrifying occurrence, which has left the Spanish club enraged.
Barcelona lost the match 3-0. Chelsea took the lead with an own goal by Jules Kounde, following a superb short corner routine that saw Pedro Neto’s flick richochet off the Barcelona player and into the goal. His teammate Ronald Araujo drew a second yellow card for a challenge on Blues defender Marc Cucurella and was sent off just before halftime.

Barcelona missed their greatest chance of the first half, with former Manchester City forward Ferran Torres shooting wide from close range. Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea put up a commanding performance in west London, with goals from the exceptional Estevao Willian and striker Liam Delap in the second half sealing victory for the home side against 10 men. According To Daily Star.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was dissatisfied with his team’s efforts and lambasted their lack of fight in his post-match press conference.
He stated:
“We need to be more aggressive, particularly in one-on-one scenarios. Chelsea is constantly aggressive; they play with their bodies and are more dynamic in one-on-one situations. This is exactly what I want from my staff.
“Sometimes we assume we can control things, including the ball, but in the Champions League, especially against a Premier League side that is second in the table, it’s not the case, so we have to fight a little harder and play more aggressively.
“But we started the game really well, and we had a great chance to score the first goal, but everything changed when a red card was issued.
“Coming back with ten players is difficult against such a great team. We have to accept this defeat, but I am optimistic about the following games.”
