Eliezer Mayenda has claimed that Barcelona will help hd in the forthcoming play-offs.
Mayenda was called up to the Spain U21s squad earlier this season as a result of his outstanding performances for the Black Cats, thus he spent the March international break training and playing alongside some of La Liga’s top young players. The 20-year-old has developed a close bond with Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, who has played regularly for the Catalan giants over the last two seasons.
“For me and my family, it was incredible, and it was a good step forward in my career,” Mayenda told The Athletic.
“I was training for one week with incredibly good players from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Valencia, a terrific experience.
“Fermin plays in Barcelona, he plays in the Champions League. That’s why I say it’s a good experience for me because I can learn from these players and especially from Fermin. I have a good relationship with him. Sometimes he sends me messages after watching Sunderland. It’s about opportunities. Xavi gave Fermin opportunities and he got stronger and stronger. Same for me here.”

Régis Le Bris analyzes first leg Sunderland striker dilemma
Régis Le Bris has a major decision to make as to who starts up front against Coventry City on Friday night, and highlighted his issue at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
“We’ll see who starts,” Le Bris explained.
“First and foremost, we have two good strikers, which is good news. Two young strikers, one very young and the other quite young. They are two different strikers and it depends on the balance of the team – we always need threats in behind. When we play with Pat and Enzo out wide, we sometimes need a striker who can go in behind and manage and stretch the defence. I believe Wilson’s technique is appropriate for these conditions; Eli can do the same thing, but he prefers to pass the ball to his feet and can dribble. He doesn’t precisely fit the profile. It’s about both balance and shape. Both can run, but they may get exhausted at times. Or one opponent.
