Barcelona has unveiled their all-new away kit for the 2025-26 season, which pays tribute to NBA legend and lifetime fan Kobe Bryant.
Bryant, a five-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, was a passionate supporter of the La Liga giants and was frequently photographed with Barcelona players, featured prominently in club culture before his terrible death in 2020.
Barcelona and Nike collaborated to produce a new away jersey with various allusions to Bryant’s “Mamba Mentality” in order to continue his legacy. Reported on social media.
A gold base with purple accents pays homage to Bryant’s team colors from his time as a Laker, while the jersey boldly replaces Nike’s traditional swoosh with the “Kobe Sheath” emblematic of his brand.
“The sword is the naked talent, while the sheath is the shell of it, the effort we put in, our life experience,” Bryant previously noted.

A snakeskin texture runs across the shirt and is also carried over into the Barcelona crest, paying homage to Bryant’s well-known nickname, the Black Mamba.
This is the first release in a three-year partnership between Barcelona and the Bryant brand, which also includes a new pre-match shirt, basketball outfit, and limited edition Barça x Kobe footwear, among other items.
Fans will get their first look at the new away shirt on Thursday, July 31, when Hansi Flick’s team plays FC Seoul in South Korea in their next preseason friendly.
