Barcelona Identify Kane As ‘First-Choice Target’ In January Move

Barcelona have reportedly identified Harry Kane as the ideal candidate to replace Robert Lewandowski as they seek to capitalize on the England international’s contract clause.

Lewandowki’s contract expires in the summer, and according to Football 365, Barcelona are eager to replace the 37-year-old with Kane, 32, who they consider to be “the ideal younger replacement.”

The Catalans might try to activate a clause in Kane’s deal with Bayern that would let him go for £57 million in the summer before his contract expires in 2027.

The striker would then be free to speak with potential suitors in January.

After joining Bayern from Tottenham for £100 million in the summer of 2023, Kane has scored an astounding 108 goals in 113 games.

In September, he became the fastest player this century to rack up 100 goals for a team in one of the top five leagues in Europe.

Kane would probably join Marcus Rashford at the Nou Camp. The club want to take up the option to make the Manchester United forward’s loan move permanent at the end of the season for £30 million after a fantastic start to life in Spain, where he has contributed six goals and nine assists in just 16 games.

Kane Seems To Rule Out Premier League Return

When Kane signed for Bayern, it was assumed that he would eventually return to the Premier League, but he acknowledged this month that his time in the Bundesliga has caused him to ponder the prospect that this might never happen.

Kane said: “If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

“Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn’t say I would never go back.”
