Barcelona Forced To Delay Registration Of Five Players Until Next Week

Barcelona’s efforts to register players for the 2025/26 season have been delayed slightly, according to SPORT.

The club had planned to finish all procedures before the Joan Gamper Trophy, but that deadline has been moved to next week due to awaiting paperwork.

Still, there is no fear at the club, as they are certain that all necessary registrations will be completed before their La Liga opening against Mallorca on August 16.

The main reason for the delay is an ongoing audit being conducted by Crowe Spain. Barcelona is still waiting for the final report, which is required for La Liga to certify its financial activities and reinstate the 1-1 rule.

There’s no need to panic

Currently, five players are awaiting registration: Joan Garcia, Marcus Rashford, Roony Bardghji, Gerard Martin, and Wojciech Szczesny.

Due to the delay in Crowe’s audit, the club must now wait a few more days before submitting the necessary documentation to La Liga.

According to club sources, the delay is due to a few final details being checked in the audit, not financial difficulties.

One significant factor under discussion is a 30-year handover of 475 VIP seats at the Spotify Camp Nou to two external firms, which is estimated to generate €100 million. This agreement is critical for the club to follow La Liga’s 1-1 regulation.

Everyone is optimistic

Despite the delay, the atmosphere in the club remains peaceful. Barcelona is totally certain that La Liga will approve the VIP seat arrangement and that all five players will be registered in time for the season to begin.

Despite the ongoing situation with goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the club remains optimistic about signing Joan Garcia.

Barça believes that once the audit is cleared and La Liga gets the go-ahead, there will be enough financial room to finish all essential registrations quickly.
